Murray Smalpage APM
Founder & Managing Director. Excalibur Solutions is led by Murray Smalpage APM, whose career spans more than 40 years in Australian law enforcement, culminating as Deputy Commissioner — and Acting Commissioner and Chief Executive — of the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services, following senior command with the Western Australia Police Force including Assistant Commissioner (Professional Standards).
Throughout his policing career, Mr Smalpage held a range of senior investigative and operational command appointments, leading complex investigations and managing specialist investigative units. His experience includes oversight of major criminal investigations, fraud and corruption inquiries, intelligence-led operations, counter-terrorism, and high-risk operational environments, as well as service as Territory Controller — the peak statutory emergency position under the NT Emergency Management Act.
Drawing on this experience, Excalibur Solutions provides clients with a disciplined and methodical investigative approach combined with practical security risk management expertise, delivering independent and professional services to government agencies, local government authorities, corporate organisations and the resources sector. Mr Smalpage holds the required regulatory licences in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, and was awarded the Australian Police Medal in 2000.
